GTCO CalComp Announces the Super L III Large-Format Digitizer

October 25, 2001—GTCO CalComp announced today the release of their new Super L III series of digitizers. Available immediately, the Super L III is the next generation of digitizers in the Super L series. It is designed to allow more versatility than ever before for users in a variety of markets that need to take information from a paper original, and convert it into digital form for manipulation.

The Super L III is next in the family of high quality digitizers that set the standard in large-format digitizing. Super L III digitizers best suit professionals in construction estimating, textiles and facilities management applications using CAD systems. The Super L III series of digitizers is compatible with all major CAD and mapping software packages for DOS and MS Windows environments. GTCO CalComp delivers the Super L III digitizers with an automatic configuration program to simplify the installation process. In addition, the Super L III gives users the choice of using corded or cordless pointing devices, like slim-styled pens and multi-buttoned cursors, to easily get information into a digital format, whether it is a set of blueprints, maps or textile patterns.

Available in four sizes ranging from 20” x 24” to 44” x 60”, the Super L III provides a resolution of up to 2,540 lines per inch and accuracy of 0.010”, making it ideal for even the most demanding work. Users can select the pointing device they find most appropriate for their work: 4- or 16-button cursors; or click-tip pens are available for accurate digitizing.

A new Windows-based configuration program and an improved TabletWorks driver set makes Super L III set-up very easy for all users. Custom configurations are now easily set up using the supplied Super L III configuration program and can be stored by the digitizer’s SuperSet menu, providing easy one step access when digitizer configurations need to be quickly changed. The Super L III offers improved emulations of popular industry formats, including CalComp 3400 and better Summagraphics emulations. The Super L III is connected through a standared RS-232/C interface or an optional USB adapter kit.
