Why doesn't my mouse work after installing tablet drivers
in Windows 95?
Click on the "Start" button. Select the
"Settings" option and then the "Control Panel"
option. Double-click on the "System" icon.
Click on the "Device Manager" tab. Click on the
"+" next to the mouse icon and then highlight the mouse
installed on your system. Click on the "Remove"
button and then click "Yes" to confirm the removal of
the mouse from your system. Restart your computer. Windows
95 should detect your mouse when the system restarts. If
not, open the Control Panel again and double-click on the
"Add New Hardware" icon. Let Windows 95 search for
new hardware. When the search is finished, restart your
computer.
Why does my mouse pointer jump on the screen when using my
digitizer?
Your tablet is probably sitting too close to your monitor
and receiving interference. Try moving the tablet away from
your monitor. If this does not work, try changing the operating
frequency of your cursor by pressing and holding down the 1 and 2
buttons simultaneously until the power light blinks on your tablet
(CalComp cursors only). If using a pen/stylus, hold down the tip
and both side buttons simultaneously for about 4 seconds to toggle
between the two operating frequencies.

How do I set up my CalComp
tablet to work with AutoCAD Release 14?
Before using these instructions, the digitizer should be working
on the desktop in Windows 95/98/NT.
1. In AutoCAD, pick the Tools
pull-down menu, then pick Preferences.
(Typing 'config' at the command line will also bring up the
Preferences dialog box.)
2. Pick the Pointer
tab. Scroll down the list of drivers and select Wintab
Compatible Digitizer ADI - by Autodesk, Inc. Now
pick the Set Current
button.
3. In the same dialog box, under Accept
input from:, select Digitizer
and mouse. Now pick the OK
button.
AutoCAD Release 14 for Windows is
now configured for the digitizer. You can now use the
'tablet' command to set up (CFG) the AutoCAD template or calibrate
the board.
How do I set up my CalComp
tablet to work with AutoCAD 2000?
Before using these instructions, the digitizer should be working
on the Windows desktop, as a pointer, using the current tablet
driver:
1. In AutoCAD 2000, pick the Tools
pull-down menu, then pick Options.
2. Pick the System
tab. In the area called "Current Pointing Device",
select Wintab Compatible Digitizer ADI 4.2 -
by Autodesk.
3. In the same dialog box
under Accept input from:, select
Digitizer
and mouse. Now pick the Apply
button and then the OK button.
How do I get AutoCAD 14 or
2000 to access both screens with my Dual Monitors?
Before using these instructions, make sure you are using
TabletWorks Wintab™ Driver Version 5.2 (or higher) or 6.1 (or
higher), which support Dual Monitors.
1. Open the TabletWorks
Control Panel.
2. Enter the Tablet or Mapping
screen (depending on which version of the Wintab™ driver you are
using).
3. Select Enable
Mapping (make sure the "WYPIWYG" pointing mode is
selected). Now select Apply.
Setting the TabletWorks Control
panel up this way will allow you to use the DrawingBoard III in
absolute mode on both screens in AutoCAD.
Why does my digitizer work only after I remove my comports from
Windows 98 and restart my computer?
When the comports are removed from Windows and the computer is
restarted, Windows will detect the comports and reinstall the
comport controllers. At this point Windows has not started
the Power Management feature for the comports, thus the tablet
will work normally. Once the computer has been restarted
again, the tablet will quit working.
This is an issue that has just recently developed with a number of
new high speed motherboards. We are taking measures to fix
this issue with our next TabletWorks Driver version. For
assistance with this issue, please contact our Technical Support
Department at: (480) 443-2214. |
